Ok you probably wondering why in the heck does a guy who sells bath tubs want to write a guide about HHO gas generators or better yet what does he know. Well the answer lies in common sense, and a little research which you are also obviously doing or you wouldn't be reading this guide.

Every time gas prices spike these gadgets seem to pop up as the miracle answer to the gas crises. For those of you who can remember back in the 70s during the oil embargo with the even and odd days you could get gas, these generators were available then as they are especially now.

I will reframe from getting technical in the writting of this guide and will simply point out some common sense points. The automotive Hydrogen Gas Generator works by electrolysis to separate hydrogen gas from water then feed it into the intake manifold. The problem lies in that your car does not generate enough electricity for the generator to produce enough hydrogen to make any difference.

Common sense would tell us if GM, Toyota, Ford, Nissan etc with their team of scientist and enormes research and development budgets thought this would really work do you not think they would install them on there cars and trucks? Instead they are investing millions and millions of dollars on Hybrid vehicle research and development while our government has moved towards removing federal laws that prohibit off shore oil drilling. There is in fact Hydrogen cell vehicles that are being tested however, they are not like the PVC tube kits on sale that look like something made at a plumbing store or someone's garage.

As the old saying goes, "If it sounds to good to be true then it probably is" Be an informed buyer and do your research before purchasing miracles made in someone's garage

Another interesting toy is the Turbonater. Basicly a fan that is inline before the intake which is suppose to help ram air into your engine and aid in fuel/air atomization with the end result being more power and better fuel economy. Well I am sorry, unless your car is powered by a turbo jet engine this is not going to work on a normal aspirated engine or fuel injected engine. Aside from the turbo jet engine both will do better with a smother airflow into the engine like K&N filters promotes and certainly not from a fan that is actuated by vacume that will cause turbulence rather than the prefered smother unrestricted airflow.
