Another scam that I see every week or two is this great email that comes to me in Spanish.  To tell you the truth, I have no idea why this email comes to me, I do not have an HSBC account nor do I plan to open one.  But this email when translated claims that my account is in serious jeopardy.  Please avoid clicking any links in emails you don’t understand, it could lead you to a phishing site or contain a virus.

HSBC le comunica que con la entrada del año 2007 los servidores HSBC de procesos bancarios han sido actualizados y están ya operativos. Sin embargo debido a la ingente cantidad de usuarios que usan Internet como medio de pago seguro, nos vemos en la obligación a pedirle su colaboración para una rápida restauración de los datos en las nuevas plataformas. Si no ha entrado en su cuenta bancaria en las últimas 12 horas se ruega lo haga de inmediato para evitar cualquier posible anomalía en su cuenta o futura pérdida de datos.Puede entrar a su cuenta desde el siguiente enlace (LINK REMOVED) o para mayor comodidad hacer click sobre la imagen correspondiente a su tipo de cuenta y seguir las instrucciones.   hsbc pone a tu disposición, sin costo adicional nuevos servidores que cuentan con la última tecnología en protección y encriptacion de datos.
