I am an old retired person and am planning to travel to Asia and India for about 6 months.

I have a NOKIA 3595 old phone of Rogers AT&T  there is no more contract on this old phone.I want to use it in India and checked the phone says it is Not restricted. This was after I paid $4 to get it unlocked but when It was used in India and U.K. with a SIM card from ORANGE and T MOBILE in U.K.  also  in India with the BSNL GSM net work SIM  the phone does not read the SIM cards but it does allow access to the MENU of the phone itself.

The SIM cards do not detect any networks manually or automatically. So I presume it is still locked and can not be used on other service providers.

CAN SOME ONE HELP ??  PLEASE !!!
