If you are like me, you hate paying high amounts for gasoline. And if you use your car for business, then it makes it even more painful.
American Express offers two cards that both offer 5% savings on ANY brand of gasoline, as long as it is a stand-alone gasoline station.
Their SIMPLYCASH card for business owners offers 5% cash back on gasoline from any gas station that is primarily a gas station, ie. a Hess Station, BP, Mobil, Exxon, Sunoco, etc. If it is gasoline being sold at a Costco, though, you can get their COSTCO AMERICAN EXPRESS card for your business (apply at Costco customer service desk), which will save you 5% on COSTCO's ALREADY low gas price.
Where I live, Costco is usually the cheapest gas in town, so this is an extra bonus of about 15 cents a gallon (based on $3 per gallon).
Both cards also have NO ANNUAL FEE.
The Costco card gives you your 5% back once per year, in a lump sum bonus and the SIMPLYCASH card gives it back to you once per month, with approximately a 2 month delay. Note, the SIMPLYCASH card also saves you 5% on your cell phone bill and office supplies.
These cards are better than cards from a particular brand of gas, as those will only save you on THEIR gas. I like a card that no matter what station I go to, even if it is a private no name gas station, I know that I will be saving 5%. If the price is $3.00 per gallon, I know that I will be paying $2.85 per gallon.
Anyway, I hope you found my guide helpful and if you would vote YES below, I would sure appreciate it. Thanks.
