The truth is that packages sent to Brazil can be easily tracked, and transactions can be very safe. The following procedures will show you how.

 2. Brazilian Postal Service and Customs system

All packages that arrive to Brazil will come through São Paulo. After their arrive, the package is sent to the Customs in Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo itself, where it stays for some time for taxation. Sometimes customs does not even taxes it. After the package leaves customs, it enters the national postal service system and goes to the brazilian city where it is supposed to go.

3. How to track the package that goes to brazil through the internet.

First, you should ONLY send packages to brazil through a tracking number. So you should ONLY send packages to brazil through PRIORITY AIR MAIL or EXPRESS MAIL or similar.

A)After the package leaves America, you will track it through the brazilian postal service site.

B) You will access the Brazilian Postal Service through the following address. www.correios.com.br



C) Down-left, you will read "Rastreamento / T&T". It means Tracking number. You will CHOSE  the "NACIONAL" option. And you will type the tracking number there. For example: CJ000000000US. And then you will press"BUSCAR"(SEARCH)



D) The site will open a new window and show the history of the object.




E) Now you can see where your package is.

4. How to read the history of package

A) The package arrives and goes to the customs:

IF the history of the object only shows to here, it is because the package is on CUSTOMS. It takes about 10 days, but it can stay longer. And it is not the sellers FAULT.

B) After that, the package leaves customs and enters the national postal service system. If it has "TRIBUTADO" writen, it was taxed by customs. If it does not have it, it was not taxed.

D) After that, it enters to the national postal service system and goes to the delivery address. When it has "Entregue" written, it means it was delivered.

5. Some important considerations

Packages sent to brazil are supposed to take much more time than suggested by postal services. If you send something through Priority Air Mail, it will take about 1 month to arrive on its destination. This happens specially due customs, that take 10 days or more to release the package. If the customer says he didn’t receive the package, you can easily track it and check if it is on customs, or somewhere else. About credit card scams: I would suggest the hold the purchase for a week before shipping it, time most credit card companies will identify a scam at this time.
