BEWARE OF SELLERS SELLING "BRAND NEW 2009 KIRBY SENTRIAS" ON EBAY!!

There are many sellers that are advertising "NEW 2009 KIRBY SENTRIA VACUUM" in their listings. The Kirby company does not allow the sale of new Kirby vacuums on eBay or anywhere else online and any Kirby bought online WILL NOT have a Kirby factory warranty. (no matter what the seller may say) If they are actually selling new Sentrias, their days of doing so on eBay are limited and they will not be able to honor any warranty because their access to Kirby will be cut off  if they are caught. If the Kirby company finds out about the sales, they will cancel the distributor who is supplying the Kirbys IMMEDIATELY without hope of reinstatement with the Kirby company.

It is very difficult for the general public to know if they are really getting a NEW Kirby Sentria because the only difference between a 2009 Sentria and an earlier model is the fill tube topper inside the cloth bag is different that the older model Sentrias. The new 2009 topper has a sort of "framework" with two tabs at the top to more firmly hold the disposable (F style) bag to the fill tube.

This means that the only thing that the seller would have to change is the fill tube topper (which is VERY easy to do and doesn't cost much) and the end customer would not be able to tell that is was not a 2009 model and may have up to 3 years useage on the motor.

The 10 digit serial number on ALL G series Kirbys (G3, G4, G5, G6, Ultimate G, Diamond Edition and Sentria) is engraved into the aluminum on the side of the Kirby, right above where the cloth bag attaches to the machine. This serial number contains the EXACT manufacture date of the machine.

The first number in the serial number will be a 1, 2, 3 or 4 and pertains to the quarter of the year in which the machine was manufactured. The second and third number is the year of manufacture.

FOR EXAMPLE.... in the serial number 1071104984, the machine was manufactured in the first quarter of the year 2007.
