Over the years I have noticed many Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus posters described as "ORIGINALS" when in fact they are offset copies.
The majority of these can be easily identified by their size of approximately 20 by 18 inches and all bearing a prefixed P- on one of ther margins.
To the untrained eye and or seller they can be easily mistaken to be originals, as they were reproduced including the lithographers name and date, usually The Strobridge Litho Co.
When in doubt always ask for return privileges if there's any concern. A good seller will agree.
