HOW TO CLEAN AND CARE FOR YOUR AUTHENTIC DESIGNER HANDBAG

If you have purchased an Authentic Designer Handbag then you have probably spent 100’s maybe even 1000’s of dollars, so you will want to care for it and maintain it properly, that way it will last for many years to come. I know that I am very PICKY when it comes to my Authentic Designer Handbags and I want them to stay looking there very best!!!! All it takes is a few minutes to properly care for and maintain you Authentic Designer Handbag.

One of the best ways to care for your authentic designer leather or vinyl handbag is to use a good quality leather or vinyl protector or cleaner every few months or as needed to help revive the leather and keep it from drying out or cracking and also to help it from fading or discoloring. It will also help to remove minor surface scratches or imperfections and remove dulling residue. Using a good quality leather cleaner will gently remove dirt, sweat, stains or spots and will help to restore your authentic leather handbag to make it look like the day you bought it!!!!. You should apply the leather cleaner with a clean soft white rag or cloth. The leather cleaner should be used very sparingly or too much could damage the leather. Use only as needed.

You should also use a good quality leather moisturizer, it will help to nourish, soften and help bring back the luster to your authentic leather handbag. The leather moisturizer should also be applied with a clean soft white rag or cloth. Apply the moisturizer liberally, at least twice a year or more if needed.
 
One of the best ways to care for your authentic designer cloth or canvas handbag it to use a good quality cloth or canvas cleaner. Most of the time just using a mild soap and a damp white cloth will do the trick to help remove dirt, spots or stains. You can also use a good quality scotch-guard product; this will help with spots not staining. Shout Wipes are also a good way to clean a cloth or canvas handbag. When using a Shout Wipe, be sure that you stay directly on top of the stain and be careful so that you do not spread the stain on the handbag. Wait until the handbag dries and you will see the best results. If the stain is very deep it may require a second cleaning with a new Shout Wipe.

For the silver or brass hardware on the handbag you can use a good quality metal polish or brass cleaner to help shine it up. I like to use a metal polish or brass cleaner in a paste form because it is easier to work with, a liquid cleaner is too runny and messy.  The metal polish or brass cleaner can be applied with a clean soft white cloth, or for smaller pieces use a cotton ball or Q-tip. Be very careful not to get any of these cleaners on the leather, vinyl, cloth or canvas because it can ruin or discolor the handbag. If you do get it on the handbag, wipe it off quickly with a damp white cloth.

You should always clean your Authentic Designer Handbag before you store it. Also you should pack it with tissue paper to help hold its true shape. Please ALWAYS place your clean handbag in the dust bag or if your handbag did not come with a dust bag a white cotton pillowcase will work just as well. NEVER EVER store your Authentic Designer Handbag in a plastic bag, the plastic can stick to the leather and ruin your authentic leather handbag. A plastic bag will also not allow your handbag to breathe and the leather or suede will dry out and crack.
