I've seen numerous sellers auctioning off so called "HOT" packs. For those of you who don't know what HOT packs are..they are packs of cards that have a special card in them; usually autographs or game-used cards. There are "HOT" Boxes as well. I can remember back in 1993 a friend of mine bought a box of topps finest basketball and got a refractor card in every pack. That would be considered a HOT box because odds on a refractor were 1 per box and he got 1 per pack. Usually game used cards are heavier than a typical card due to fact that a jersey or part of bat or ball is inserted in the card itself. People can measure how heavy each pack is, and then can deduce which pack may contain a game-used card.
As i mentioned earlier, there are numerous sellers selling HOT packs on EBAY, and infact many of the sellers in question are one guy. I would stay away from any autograph hot packs. There is no secret sequence or code to find theses packs, and the cards are the same weight as regular cards. These so called "HOT" packs are opened carefully by the seller and resealed using wax or glue. Buyers are usually happy they "pulled" an auto. What these sellers do is bust open cases and reseal packs with the worst autos in them. Please do not fall for this scam.
