Cleaning the home is on-going...keeping Stuff organized, that is, where it conveniently belongs, where its most needed and used should not be an on-going task if we return stuff to its Home-Place after use.
For all items, keep similar and like-functional items stored together.
Make Frequently-Used items available for easy access by placing items in front-view, at eye-level or on lower shelves...
FAMILY ROOM, DEN - MEDIA STORAGE: organize and store in a container-holder, on a shelf or table-/desk-top, or in a cabinet or closet.
- VHS Movies
- CDs, DVDs
- 3.5 Diskettes
- Books
KITCHEN ITEMS - in Cabinet or Drawer; neatly stored atop of Counter or on Wall
- Food Preparation - utensils in a drawer, in a container atop of counter; bowls in a cabinet shelf or neatly arranged on counter-top
- Home-Entertaining serving trays and bowls; glass servers - unless these items are used regularly, these items may be stored on a high shelf.
- Items in Refrigerator can be placed neatly on manual-rotating trays.
- Food Storage Containers
- Baking items lot - keep in one place, neatly together. Unless baking is a regular [daily, weekly, bi-weekly] function, these items may be stored in a less easy-accessible area such as a Top Cabinet Shelf or in a clean, dry basement storage area.
- Mugs, cups
- Keep the Kitchen Wall Reminder Board at eye level, near a frequently-looked area in the kitchen - perhaps near the phone or the refrigerator.
CLOTHING: Store and Organize in a Closet or Drawer; make good use of Shelves, Floor, and Wall space. Placing Shelving or raised containers on a Closet Floor allows extra storage area -- AND the floor in the closet can still be easily cleaned!
TIES, HATS, SCARVES, PURSES:
- Wall Pegs-Racks
- Drawer Organizers
OFFICE & DESK ITEMS: organize and store where most used. Try to make your items "flow" the way you work. For example...
- if you are right-handed and use your stapler daily, keep it to the right of your stapling-working area.
- if you print onto your 20lb. paper daily, keep a stack or ream of paper next to the printer or in the printer tray.
A key to ORGANIZING is to keep together...

-
excess items
