HOME CHOCOLATE FONDUE FOUNTAIN RECIPES
Fondue has been the same for years and remained virtually unchanged... until now! Home Chocolate Fountains have revolutionized the world of fondue and added a new dimension to this age old party tradition with some delicious new ideas...
Say "Good-bye" to the Fondue Pot!
A Home Chocolate Fountain can turn chocolate, cheese, caramel, salad dressing, and even BBQ sauce into a flowing curtain of delicious fondue!
Here are some suggested recipes for your Home Fondue Fountain:
Please note: Due to the natural variances in different substances, the fondue curtain will not always flow the same way it does with chocolate. Any fondues with “chunks” will cause gaps in the curtain as it comes over the tiers. For best visual appeal, choose fondues that are smooth. If possible, test fondues through viscosity funnel (included with the purchase of a Sephra Home chocolate fountain).
BASIC RECIPES
Caramel Fountain Recipe
5 parts liquid caramel (or soft caramels melted slowly work nicely!)
1 part water
Mix caramel and water in saucepan over low heat and then transfer to the fountain. Caramel naturally thickens as it is heated and worked with. Periodically thin out with water throughout event (approx every 45 minutes). Caramel should be stirred occasionally in the basin to help prevent air bubbles from forming.
Heat : Low
Suggested dipping items:
apples, pears, chocolate-covered pretzels, cookies, fresh pineapple (delicious!)
A Tip: Before dipping apples in the fondue, drop them briefly into boiling water. This removes the wax coating and allows the fondue to stick better.
Nacho Cheese Fountain Recipe
5 parts canned nacho cheese
1 part water
Start with any store-bought liquid nacho cheese. Large cans are available at many wholesale stores. Mix cheese and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir frequently to achieve the correct consistency, and then transfer to the fountain. Add more water as needed.
Heat: Medium
Suggested dipping items:
tortilla chips, mini tacos, breaded chicken, cocktail sausages
BBQ Sauce Fountain Recipe
5 parts medium grade* BBQ sauce
1 part water or apple juice
*Premium-grade BBQ sauce will require additional thinning.
Mix BBQ sauce with water or apple juice in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir well and add to the fountain.
Heat: Medium
Suggested dipping items:
chicken wings, ribs, beef strips
Ranch Dressing Fountain Recipe
light ranch dressing
water (if needed)
Use light ranch dressing for best results. Some brands of ranch will need to be thinned out with water in order to flow properly. Add to fountain.
Heat: OFF
Suggested dipping items:
buffalo wings, potato skins, chicken strips
ADVANCED RECIPES
Caramel Raspberry Fondue Fountain Recipe
- 10 cups sugar- 1 cup water
- 2 cups (16 oz.) corn syrup
- 2 cups (1 pint) heavy whipping cream
- 2 cubes butter
- 2 cups raspberry flavoring syrup
Combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water in a large saucepan. Stir over high heat until ingredients melt and reach a medium amber color (330°F). Remove from heat and allow bubbles to dissipate. Slowly stir in the cream. (CAUTION: Add cream carefully as sugar mixture will be very hot and may bubble or spurt when cream is added.) Add butter and flavoring syrup. Stir until smooth, returning to heat if fondue has thickened. Stir in a small amount of hot water to adjust the fondue’s consistency if needed.
To make regular caramel, substitute water in place of the flavoring syrup.
If air bubbles become present in fondue, stop the fountain and stir in a small amount of hot water.
Yield: Enough to run through the largest home fountains. Multiply quantities by 4 for large commercial fountains.
A Twist: Experiment with different flavorings (vanilla, hazelnut, etc.).
Peanut Butter Fondue Fountain Recipe
- 3 lbs cream cheese (room temp)
- 3 cups sugar
- 4 cups creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups milk
In a mixer, combine cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Mix in the peanut butter and salt. Add the milk, 1 cup at a time. Thin with additional milk as needed. Serve fondue at room temperature to avoid changes in consistency.
Yield: Makes enough for the largest home fountains.
Suggested dipping items:
Angel Food cake, Chocolate-covered pretzels, Marshmallows, Molasses cookies, Oreos, Bananas, Brownie Bites, Apple slices
Barbecue Sauce Fondue Fountain Recipe
- 1 can mild chili sauce (#10 can or 7 lb. 3 oz. sauce)

- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup honey
- 12 oz. can orange juice concentrate
- Pinch of chili flakes
- 4 chipotle peppers
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup water
- Hot pepper sauce to taste
Combine all ingredients in a large pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Turn off heat and allow sauce to cool slightly. Blend in small batches in a blender and then strain through a fine-mesh strainer.
* For best results, prepare for immediate use in fountain. Refrigerating and reheating the sauce may slightly alter its consistency.
Heat: Medium

3 lbs Velveeta cheese, cut into small cubes

Cinnamon Fondue Fountain Recipe

- 4 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup cinnamon candies (Red Hots)
Bring corn syrup, sugar, and water to a boil. Add the candies. Boil until the mixture reaches 220°F on a candy thermometer. Allow to cool slightly before running through the fountain. Thin with water if necessary.
Yield: Enough to run through the largest home fountains. Multiply quantities by 4 for large commercial fountains.
Heat: HighSuggested dipping items:
Apples, Pears, Popcorn balls, Payday bars, Saltwater taffy, Rice Krispy Treats, Tootsie Rolls, Sugar cookies

Marshmallow Cream Fondue Fountain Recipe
- 6 cups whole or low fat milk
- 4 bags (16 oz. each) marshmallows
Heat the milk in a large sauce pan over medium heat. Add the marshmallows and cook on med-high, stirring frequently to avoid scorching. Once marshmallows are completely melted, continue stirring fondue over med-high heat for 10 more minutes before adding to the fountain. This will improve fondue’s consistency.
Run on low or medium heat.
A tip: Keep the extra fondue on hand for refilling or for adjusting the consistency if necessary as the fondue may thicken if left standing. Consistency can be adjusted by adding either more milk or fondue.
