Getting The Right Size Chandelier For Your Room Is Important* We at Easy*Livin Are Providing A Guide To Making The Right Selection As Easy As 1~2~3 ***
* Determining The Correct Width For My Room *
It's as Simple as Adding the Length & the Width of Your Room Together... If Your Room is 14' x 14', the Appropriate Size Chandelier to get would be about 28 inches Wide. You can opt to go down in size if your room is full of furniture, or you may choose to go up a bit if it is a rather open room. If you are hanging your Chandelier in a Two Story Foyer remember that the Higher you hang a Chandelier the Smaller it Looks, you may want to consider going a little larger than what the formula recommends. If you are hanging your Chandelier in a room with a low ceiling, you may opt to go smaller than the formula suggests. Whatever the case, We Will Be Happy To Help You Determine The Proper Size*
* What About The Length?
As an Interior Decorator I can assure you that the main concern would be hanging the Chandelier to High*
If you are placing the Chandelier in an area in which you will be walking under it, the Chandelier should always be at least 6 1/2 to 7 Foot from the Floor. It may be hung higher in a lofty space. Once again, just be cautious not to hang it to high*
* How Far From The Surface Of The Table Should My Chandelier Hang?
We like 32" to 34" from the top of the table. This is low enough to complement your table settings, but high enough to be out of the way.
* How Many Lights Should I Have?
Each socket can carry a max of 60 watts, but 40 watts is usually sufficient and is more flattering to the Chandeliers. Smaller rooms do fine with 6 to 8 lights. Larger rooms may require 8 or more lights, especially if the Chandelier is your only light source. No matter how many candles on your Chandelier, We Always Recommend Using A Dimmer*
