It happens to all of us sooner or later. You write a really good post for your eBay blog, it gets lots of good comments... then suddenly, it has disappeared.....
Where did it go? How can you get it back?
First of all, don't panic! You probably didn't delete it, because the system asks you to confirm before doing that. So take a deep breath, count to ten, and ...
Look in your archives...
The sidebar only shows the last few posts you made. If you have made more than will fit, the earlier ones get pushed off the sidebar display, but they are still there. Click on the archive for the month you want and ALL your entries will be there. But if the one you want is still missing, then...
Look in your drafts file...
Did you go back to edit the post? If you accidentally clicked on "save to draft" instead of "post," then the edited post disappears from your blog and is stored in your Drafts file. (The link for this is at the top of the sidebar.) Never fear! All you have to do is open Drafts, open the "missing" post, click on "post" again, and it will re-appear -- with all the old comments intact.
Not in either place?
The worst case scenario is that it was deemed inappropriate by eBay and they removed it. If that happens, you also get a warning in your Messages box and by email. But, if you are behaving yourself and not breaking the rules, then you were probably the victim of some strange system bug. Or you deleted it by accident. In which case, the old adage applies: "Blessed are the paranoid, for they always make back-ups!" Of course, I don't back up every post, but for longer essays that take lots of time to research and write, it's not a bad idea.
