While many other reviewers will tell you that HD DVD is as good or better than Blue Ray it comes down to support. I've seen reivews updated as of April 6, 2008 giving false info on the future of availability of HD DVD & Blueray discs. The major retailers, Best Buy, Target, Walmart and others as well as the leading rental agencies, Netflix and Block buster have anounced they will no longer carry HD DVD movies. More studios have announced they will only release in Bluray instead of both Blueray and HD DVD. The PS3 is also a blueray player and when they first came out they were cheaper than a stand alone blueray player, now they are about the same price. One feature all PS3's have is they are upgradable to all versions of Blueray and there have been a few updates so far, allowing higher capacity and more features. Make your own decision, I decides to get a PS3 and as a bonus can play games, even though the Xbox 360 has more titles I was very interested in teh blueray player and playing my old PS2 games. The 40 gig version fo the PS3 is not backwards capatable, a new 80 gig version will be available in June with a new rumble controller and the game Metal Gear Solid 4 for $499.00.
There you go short and sweet, don't just belive what I say check other sources, you will be spending your hard earned money.
