Ahh, Gurkee's rope sandals! Like fresh strawberries, cut grass,
and basball games, Gurkees rope sandals are becoming another "rite of
summer" for many people. There are many different kinds of
Gurkees - this guide will help you cut through the confusion, and get
to the best rope sandals you'll ever own!
The first thing to consider is Style. There are currently four styles of Gurkees - Neptune, Tobago, Barbados, and Montego. Each has its own unique design, and each wears a bit differently than the others.
Size is the other choice you have to make. Again, each style has it's own available sizes, but in general, Gurkees are available in Womens size 6-10 and Mens size 10-13. The most common question we get is "What size should I order?" Well, we recommend that you order whatever size your normally wear. If you wear an 8, get an 8. One thing to consider is Gurkees come in half-to-whole sizes. So a size 8 is actually a size 7.5-8. So, always round up to the nearest whole size.
Remember - Gurkees are Beyond Barefoot!

- The Neptune is our most popular style. It is the "criss cross" style that goes over the foot. The backstrap is adjustable, so it can accomidate many different types of feet.
- The Tobago is the "flip-flop" or "thong" style. It has rope that goes beween your big and your index toe. You might think that the toe rope would be bothersome, but really, it's not.
- The Barbados is the knotted rope style. It's similar to the Neptune, but instead of the criss cross, it has a "knot" on the top.
- The Montego style has a rope "strap" that holds the sandal into place.

TIP: We RARELY get
someone want to exchange for a smaller size. 99% of exchanges are
for a larger size. So, go with your normal shoe size. But
when it doubt, go bigger, not smaller!
Now, from where should you buy your Gurkees? Well, we would like you to buy from us, of course! But, if you are shopping around, there are some things to consider.- Are you buying from an Authorized Gurkees Distributor? Authorized distributors are able to give you the premier customer service that you should expect when making a purchase.
- Does the seller offer an exchange? It's hard to buy sandals on the internet - you don't get to try them on! Your seller should offer an exchange policy, so that if they don't fit, you can return them for a pair that does!
- Does the seller offer a warranty?
Genuine Gukrees distributors offer a 30 day warranty on all Gurkees
sold. If your Gurkees break or fray, a REAL Gurkees distributor
will send a replacement.
- Does the seller "get it"? There are lots of people who can sell you Gurkees - they pick them up in flea markets, store closings, etc. But do these people KNOW the product? Can they answer your questions?
- Does the seller "live Gurkees"? Check out their other auctions and their feedback. Are they a commited retailer for Gurkees, or do they sell whatever they can get their hands on?
- Are they REALLY Gurkees? There is one seller in particular that is selling a cheap "knockoff" rope sandals, then using keywords to sell them "like Gurkees". BEWARE that you're not getting an imitation - look for the Gurkee's tag, as the seller if they are genuine, and make sure! Only Gurkees Rope Sandals are guaranteed to have that true Gurkee's quality!
