WWE Classic Superstars have become some of the most popular and highly collectible action figures since
Jakks Pacific introduced the series almost two years ago. Since then, the Classic Superstars (CS) line has grown
and evolved into a very large, diverse catalog of items. As Jakks obtains the rights to produce former
WWE character likenesses, they steadily release at least 6 to 9 individual figures in a Classic series about
every 3 months. In addition, they produce several tag teams, 3 packs, and exclusive CS figures.
The Classic Superstars appeal to many generations of fans and collectors. Jakks does an excellent job of
capturing the vintage look and feel of the wrestlers we used to watch on TV so many years ago. Their appeal
lies not only in each figure's attention to detail and inherent nostalgic value, but also in its return
on investment. For those people fortunate enough to have grabbed any of the first series of CS figures from the
shelf, their current resale value on the secondary market ranges from 5 to 10 times their original retail price
of about $10.00. These figures include Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Andre the Giant, Ultimate Warrior, Bret
"Hitman" Hart, and Hunter Hearst Helmsley.
How to determine the value of your figures:
Lee's Action Figure & Toy Review, and Toyfare are two great monthly publications that focus on the current action
figure market. Each one has a comprehensive guide that gauges the secondary market value of any action figure,
based on whether it is in mint condition or "loose" (out of the box).
Another way to find out the approximate value/resale value of your item is to do a search on eBay for similar items.
