1997-1998 Donruss Priority Hockey Cards.
The 1997-1998 Donruss Priority set is one of the more unique hockey card
sets ever produced. There is a good selection of stars and a few nice
rookies in this set. However, the most interesting part of this set is
the inserts. They are numerous. The odd numbered cards are single
printed to increase their value.
Stamp of Approval Parallel.
The main set has a special Stamp of Approval die cut variation. These
cards are cut to look like a postage stamp and limited numbered out of
100 cards. I opened 6 boxes just the other month and I only found 2
stamp of approval cards out of the lot. So these are a rare pull and
highly prized.
Postcards:
A number of star players have been produced into postcards. This
subset cards are extra large at approx 5x7 in size. They show nice
action shots of the players. The postcards have a parallel issue
that are called "Opening Day Issues". These cards have a different
action shot on them, are holographic typed background, and have a stamp
on the back of them. They are numbered 1 out of 1000 in issue.
Stamps:
The stamps of approval cards are basically like a postage stamp with
a players face on them. They come in basic white and have bronze, silver,
and gold parallels. They are placed on a cardboard backdrop and are
really unique.
Direct Deposit:
The direct deposit subset is a very nice card set. These cards are
foil typed background and have the major stars on them. They are
numbered out of 3000.
Postmaster Generals:
This subset is based on the goaltenders. The cards are foil type cards
that have purple accents. They have the words Postmaster General on them
and these cards are numbered out of 1500. They feature nice action shots
of the most popular goalies of 1997-1998.
