We all know there are tons of sellers on eBay selling fake items, from designer handbags, to perfumes, to just about anything! Why do they do that? They feel the designer is charging too much and do it on spite of them. Usually these replica items are made in the same factory that the real ones are produced in, at after-hours.

They want to advertise them as authentic, sealed, 100% guarantee, etc., however that may not always be the case. Therefore, I am writing this guide. Would you like to get that authentic Louis Vuitton bag for a good deal? Or would you like to pay full price for a cheap knock off? I'm thinking you'd choose the first option.

First of all, search for one of those designer products on eBay, anything from purses, to coats, to perfumes, and everything else in between. After you have done so, see if the seller has more than one of the same item listed, and check their completed listings to see if the same item you are looking at has been listed in the past by the seller. Usually, if your selling replicas, your selling in bulk, advertising as brand new 100% authentic, sealed in the box (or whatever the case may be), with receipt, etc. However, it is very easy to say all of that, and make, you, the consumer believe that.

Check their feedback. Even if they have one negative feedback, click on the item number and see what it was for that they sold. If it is anything close to your product, such as anything designer, beware, and move on to the next seller. If you see something and believe it is authentic, email the seller and ask for more pictures. If they refuse, it is obviously a fake. If they do not refuse, make sure that the logos/COA's are how they are supposed to be and real.

If they do have a large number the same item being sold, it may not always be the case, being fake. It may be that they have bought a lot of them, for a low price, and are passing the savings onto you. If you receive one of these items, and they are not authentic, simply report to PayPal, eBay, and point it out to the seller. In most cases, you will receive a refund.

Ten Ways to Spot A Fake (especially on eBay):

1) It has a tan or brown suede interior.
2) It's tag is on a piece of string with a little white plastic circle that has a brown LV on it.
3) The logos are not a caramel brown color but more of a green color.
4) The logos are cut.
5) The trim is not leather but PVC.
6) The zipper is not a YKK zipper.
7) The style is totally made up and not made by Louis Vuitton
8) The shape is crooked or lopsided.
9) A real Louis Vuitton would never have hangtags, stamps on paper tags or sticker on tags.
10) Call 1-866 VUITTON to know the retail price. It is important to be aware that there are no wholesale, factory rejects, clearance or discounts. No one is able to offer a brand new, authentic Louis Vuitton bag for a fraction of the retail price. Louis Vuitton does not endorse any private parties' authentication.

Five Things to be Suspicious of:

1. Unauthorized Seller with Large Inventory

Louis Vuitton products are only authorized to be sold at Louis Vuitton stores and online at www.eluxury.com, or by calling 866 VUITTON. Purchases made are limited to small amounts to avoid reselling, so if you encounter a seller with a large inventory (more than a few items), chances are, they are counterfeit.

2. Item/Design Not Available on Website

Do your homework and research! Study some celebrity photos, magazine ads, the catalog on the LV website and the inventory on eluxury.com. If you have never seen the item anywhere else, then most likely, it doesn't exist. For example, there never was a Cherry Blossom Speedy or a Murakami Visor.

3. Handles Wrapped in Plastic/Hardware Wrapped in Tissue

Many times, authentic Louis Vuitton handbags will have handles made out of genuine rolled cowhide and they will NOT be wrapped in any kind of plastic or bubble wrap. If you see this on an item, it is a fake.

4. Price Seems "Too Good to Be True"

With Louis Vuitton, you get what you pay for. An authentic item can last a lifetime and with the proper care, can live long enough to be passed on to your children. If you see an LV item with a price that seems "too good to be true", then it probably is and is most likely a fake.

5. Cut Off, Asymmetrical Logos/Seam at Bottom of Bag

Louis Vuitton expertly crafts their handbags out of one continuous piece of of fabric or leather so if the item has cut off/asymmetrical logos or a seam at the bottom of the bag, it is not an authentic LV item.

And, if you see something that is too good to be true, it is. (especially dealing with designer products being sold on eBay).

I took some time to post and research all of this for your aid so PLEASE take one moment to click on YES (right below here) before closing this window...thank you!! :)
