Guide To Yamaha Banshee

Frequent winner of desert rallies the world over, the Yamaha Banshee is one of the most popular All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) on the market.  Featuring a 347 cc, liquid-cooled engine, the Yamaha Motors Corporation boasts that the Banshee has the fastest accelerating, most powerful two-stroke engine ever made.  Its lightweight frame allows for easy handling and quick acceleration.

Users are clearly enthusiastic about the Banshee--particularly in regard to its speed.  Comparing it to well-regarded four-stroke ATVs, like the Raptor 660, the DS650 and the 400 EX, users cite the Banshee's superior high-end power.  It's also said to be surprisingly comfortable, even for larger riders.  Its low seat height keeps your center of gravity low, making for easier steering and maneuverability.  The Banshee is particularly suited to open, flat areas and dunes. 

Banshees have been built since 1986, and are soon to be retired from production.  Other than minor design elements, such as color combinations, there have been minimal differences between years.  Later models do feature brake lights.  A recent Yamaha 50th Anniversary edition features the signature Yamaha yellow in combination with sleek black.
