Guide To Grading Sports Cards And Packs
By: coolonlineguy
Grading sports cards, non-sports cards, and wax packs has become the law of the land when assessing a true value and authenticity.
There are many companies that offer grading services but only a few are actually the standard of the industry.
Top Grading Companies
-Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) U.S Based
-Global Authentication Inc. (GAI) U.S Based
-Beckett Grading Service (BGS) U.S Based
-KSA cards (KSA) Canadian Based
These companies above will grade all types of memorabilia. GAI is the only company offering wax pack grading at this time, but PSA is gong to offer this service soon.
I recommend visiting their websites by doing a Google search to get a full list of services and prices.
Should I get my card graded?
Well, ask yourself these 5 questions.
What is the market value of my card? Is it worth the grading cost?
(If yes, grading will increase its value)
Does the card have sentimental value? (If yes, grading is a great way to protect the card)
Do I want to insure my card? (If yes, grading will help appraise the card)
Do I need to know if my card is authentic? (If yes, Grading will determine that)
Do I want to know the exact condition of my card? (If yes, professional grading is the only true way to determine that)
Other Notes
I recommend buying the latest copy of Beckett magazine to determine what your cards are approximatley worth. You never know what treasures you may have in that old shoe box at home!
Happy Grading, I hope this guide was useful to you!
