Hello there! If you're like me, you enjoy the animated television series of the mid 1980's called the THUNDERCATS. Perhaps you liked them as a child...perhaps (due to the magic of re-released DVDs) you are just learning to love them now...either way, you probably would like to collect the action figures from the series.

Now as of today (2006) there are no newly released action figures from the Thundercats line. Aside from fan-produced customs, all you can buy are the ones from the 80s. But how do you know if your figure is complete? What accessories go with which figure??? I am happy to assist you with the following guide:

GOOD GUYS (Thundercats and Good Characters):

The main Thundercat characters can usually be identified by a logo of a red circle with a black cat's head inside. Usually located on the belt or chest of the figure.

Lion-o (the leader)- the tallest figure with orange skin and a powder blue short jumpsuit and red hair. Originally sold with:

• a long red/orange and silver sword.
• a red/orange claw (which fits over the figure's own hand).
• a red barrel-shaped, metal tipped item that fit a AAA battery inside and has a detachable loop that could fit as a ring on your finger.
• one version of Lion-o came with a solid (1 pc) PVC Snarf figure. Later issues did not come with the Snarf, who was sold separately.

Panthro - the shortest adult figure, he has grey skin, is bald, has pointed ears and a blue outfit with white spikes on the shoulder straps.

• comes with a pair of nunchucks...one is red and one is blue, shaped at the ends like a cat's paw. Has a black plastic chain attaching the two.

Cheetara - the first adult female figure, she has blonde hair with black spots, yellow shin and a orange leotard outfit that covers most of her body.

• comes with a long, straight staff (bo, or stick) that is orange in color.
• one version of Cheetara came with a solid (1 pc) PVC Wilykit figure standing on a base. Later issues did not come with Wilykit, who was sold separately

Tygra - an adult male, his skin is orange/brown with black stripes (like a tiger). His outfit is a tourquoise green. There are actually 2 versions of Tygra, a 'younger' version and an older version. The costume and coloration and weaponry are the same, but the younger version compares as being less muscular than the older version.

• comes with a bolo (whip) which had a beige handle, and 2 cords extending with a small ball on each end.
• one version of Tygra came with a solid (1 pc) PVC Wilykat figure standing on a base. Later issues did not come with Wilykat, who was sold separately

Snarf - the one figure that does not look like a Thundercat and does not have the distinctive logo on his person. Snarf wears no clothes and rather looks like a kangaroo, with long pointed ears, a fluffy light yellow face and a long tail. His fur is red and his belly, feet and hands are beige. Snarf also is the only Thundercat who does not come with any accessories.

Wilykat - One of the 2 children of the group, she is smaller than the other figures and has orange hair, swept up in a point in the middle, with a black stripe up the center. She has light beige skin and wears an outfit that is half pink and half blue.

• comes with a red and grey hoverboard (looks like a surfboard or skateboard)

Wilykit -The other child in the group, he is the same size as his sister Wilykit. He also has orange hair, but it is swept up into 2 points and has some black stripes and some light yellow around the face. His skin is orange and his clothes are orange and brown.

• comes with a red and grey hoverboard (looks like a surfboard or skateboard)

Jaga - as tall as Lion-o, this character has orange-yellow skin and is mostly bald but has a white beard. He is the only character that has an attached blue fabric cape. He also wears a green jumpsuit, blue boots and red wrist bands.

• comes with the same sword as Lion-o, which is long and is silver and red/orange.
• also comes with a yellow helmet with a point on the top.

Pumyra -a later addition, this other adult female Thundercat is about the same size as Cheetara. She has brown hair that hangs down in 2 pigtails, with a white stripe down her hair and on the tips of the pigtails. She has light beige skin, a green choker and armband and a mostly bown short dress with tall red boots.

• comes with a sling that is brown cord and a red pouch.

Lynxo - another later addition, this is the oldest living Thundercat. he is bald with pointed ears and light beige skin. He has a red headband and a red and black body suit that covers most of his skin. His arms are speckled with red and his boots are red/orange.

• comes with a silver dish with red cross-hairs in the center. It clips to his wrist.

Bengali- the last of the new characters, this huy looks a lot like the adult Tygra figure, but with different colors. Bengali is white, with blue stripes. His costume is blue and white.

• comes with a large blue hammer with a face on one end and a spike on the other end.

Non-Thundercat Good-Guy Characters:

Berbils (3)- About the same size as Snarf, these look like robot-teddy bears. There were 3 different ones made and none came with accessories:

1. Berbil Bill-silver body with brown fur
2. Berbil Belle-light yellow body with orange fur and a flower by her ear
3. Berbil Bert-blue body with light brown fur and a shoulder strap bag

Hatchiman-looks like a human samurai warrior. Has beige skin and black hair. Has a white headband and kakhi and navy colored body armour.

• comes with a long, curved silver sword
• a navy blue helmet that covers most of his face

Snowman of Hook Mountain- looks like the abominanal snowman. Very little of his beige skin shows; mostly you see brown hair on his hands and face. Wears shaggy blue and light blue clothes (for cold weather)

• comes with a long silver color spear
• a silver shield
• a silver face helmet

Tuska Warrior- looks like a walrus-man, this fellow has light brown skin and 2 very long white tusks.His outfit is mainly a kakhi brown, with some green and a purple sash, red belt and green boots.

• comes with a green and silver machine gun-looking weapon.
