Buying and selling on eBay is a great way to expand a small growing business. From my personal experience of over 4 years, this has been one of the very best opportunities, being able to showcase a handmade product to all who take the time to browse the listings.
Since I have been selling on eBay I have found that it is important to keep some items listed on the auctions, to draw attention from buyers. Store listing will not draw as many buyers to your items. The store is like having a room full of product waiting to sell.
Picking the riight category can sometimes be very tricky. You want to get the most out of the listing no matter if it is in the auction or stores. Sometimes you will have to try one or more categories to find the one that will work for you.
Pricing is also important, most people come to eBay are looking for a bargain. Not everyone can start items at a penny or $ .99. It is necessary to price items according to what the person has invested in the product. I price my items according to material cost and labor.
Shipping is also a very important item. I have found that alot of sellers post a flat shipping charge, I find that I prefer to use actual shipping cost. In most cases this amount would be less then what they are charging.
Feedback is another subject that I would like to touch on. Over the past four years I have shipped a number of items that I never received any kind of feedback, .I always give my buyers a feedback. I know that it is eBay policy to leave feedback when a party pays for an item, but there are so many that will not leave the feedback for what ever the reason after the items are shipped. This is important to the seller and to other potential buyers..
