Recycling has become a big thing in my community here in Illinois. The city has added a re-cycle bin as big almost as our garbage bin. With such a large container along with a sorting bin in the house we have 3 times as much material for recycling than before and as much material as we have garbage so I am happy we are doing more.

But, here is the kicker. Listening to all the ads about saving energy it dulls the senses but, we purchased a lot of those funny looking light bulbs and put them in the floor lamps, table lamps, 4 in the fan in the kitchen and the outdoor lights front and back.

You won't believe the difference it made. Last month we paid $112 for electric. This month $67. I can vouch personally for this way to save. I was skeptical but, can testify to the benefits. Believe me its worth a try. I wish we could save gas that way
