As most pc enthusiasts know, this winter should see the release of Windows Vista which will introduce Direct X - 10 technology to the pc gaming market. Along with Vista and DX10 new graphics cards by Nvidia and ATI will pave the way for a gaming experiance that equals and will eventually far-surpass anything offered by the Xbox 360 or Sony PS3.*  This list is simply my opinion of great games to look for and read about that will take advantage of Next-Gen PC graphics. I will only be writing a short summary, more details can be found from gaming websites or simply by reading magazines such as PC Gamer or Computer Gaming World. The following are five of my best picks and speculations. These are not listed in order of my interest, it is simply a list of ten games. Some of these titles have a lot of information available while some have less. I hope you will find this guide somewhat informative and helpful. [These games are all slated for a 2007 release]

Unreal Tournament 2007 [FPS] - Most pc gamers have probably heard of, played, or own a game in the Unreal Tournament Series. This includes Unreal Tournament [1999], Unreal Tournament 2003 [2003], and Unreal Tournament 2004 [2004]. Many screenshots are available and this game is looking to be a graphics showcase of 2007.

Crysis [FPS] - Made by the now-popular German game studio Crytek which was made famous by the immensly sucessful Far Cry [Spring 2004] which had boasted many new graphical achievements such as HDR Lighting and a huge landscape scenery. Crysis is based on the story of an alien invasion and current tech demo videos showcase new awesome graphic benchmarks.

Flight Simulator X [Flight Simulation] - In short, simply find a screenshot of this game and it will describe itself. Anyone who has played Flight Simulator: A Century of Flight [2003] will be amazed at how far the graphics have come along. There was a time when I was very impressed by 2003's graphical output, but now this puts a whole new outlook on Flight Sim. graphics.

Supreme Commander [RTS] - One must not forget the importance of RTS games to the overal PC gaming experiance. As in the few past years RTS games have helped pave the way for many new graphical achievements and Supreme Commander will not be an exception. This game will give the player control of a huge army across a vast playing field that far surpasses and game yet released. Imagine a typical rts battlefield, now zoom out, your battlefield is now 10X bigger with the units simply small dots, now zoom out even further, you get my point.

Spore [Simulation] - Will Wright's latest brain achievement. Well known as the inspirer of Sim City [1990-2003] and the Sims / Sims 2 [1999-2006] series and expansions, Will has recently been working on and promoting his latest game, Spore. This game won the Best of Show Award at E3 [2005] and has had the honor of achieving many cover stories such as the June 2006 Computer Gaming World Exclusive. Basicly, this is a game about life. You start by crafting a unique species and watch and help build their world as it evolves from stage to stage. After you finish evolving your world you can move to exploring space and conquering other worlds, either on a offine personal experiance or in an online galactical world where everyone has their own planet or systems of planets. This is looking to be one of the most, if not the most innovative PC games EVER.
