Rather than doing the swirl and tap into the original jar, my favorite thing to use is a small bowl. I like using a small decorative rice bowl… it takes up very little room, looks nice on the vanity, and makes it so easy to do the swirl-tap-buff!  I just touch the brush to minerals, and then swirl the brush head into the bowl. The curves on the small bowl really help to infuse the brush quickly with the minerals, and no minerals “float” into the air as they do when using the jar lid!  A small custard bowl would work perfect also.
