Hi there..if you have ever stenciled a project and it looked more like a blob than something decorative..then this guide is for you..
Follow these simple guidelines..
Secure your stencil to the wall with stencil spray adhesive. Really, its worth the added expense to your project. Stencil adhesives let you reposition the stencil, and helps prevent paint from seeping under the stencil.
Use small amounts of paint..this is the hardest thing for me to get used to...but it is the deciding factor in a good finish, and a great one...dab your brush into a small puddle of paint...wipe it off on a paper towel..then wipe it off again..you want your brush to feel dry.
To speed the process, use a different brush for each color.
Use a small artist's brush to add shadow lines, curlicuess and highlights
Patience and practice..and you can be painting like a pro in no time
