Once and a while an unknowing person puts up for auction what they think is a neat looking metal plaque of some kind, often times they have no idea what the writing or symbols on the metal plaques mean, but they put it up for auction anyway. We've all been to enough cemeteries to know they are GRAVE MARKERS folks, they are put there by an organization to mark the graves of members who have passed away. They can be just plain markers on a rod, or they can have a flag holder in it. These markers are usually provided by the organization itself, or it is purchased by the family of the deceased. At NO TIME should these markers be appearing on Ebay, not only is it morally wrong but it's against the law in many states.

Even if someone finds "a pile of them behind the mowing shed at the cemetery" they are still grave markers and should not be sold or auctioned off! If you have one of these, or find one of these you should make every attempt to return it to the organization that it came from, or drop it off at the office of a larger cemetery, they will know what to do with it.

These markers were placed on the graves in reverence by a group that cared enough to place it there, it's NOT your place to remove it for monetary gain!!! Think about it folks, it's akin to removing your grandmothers grave stone!!!!

Just some food for thought, and people should start thinking before they end up on the wrong side of the law!!
