Have you all seen the prices on graded coins lately. Look at the grades and compare prices. Ex: MS69 to MS70. Hugh difference in price but the the average person like me, they look the same. But if you want to make an investment in coins for long term this is the way to go. I have Graded coins and Raw coins for my retirement and hopefully to pass on to my kids.

I came across some writings about the companies here on the internet and couldn't help but indulge in the readings about them. The man that wrote them goes by "pocket change". If you get a chance, read them. He gives and accurate prospective on each Grading Service.(camacs.com)

Also I came across another writing about the companies and could not help but think hummmmm. You see companies grade coins by people, people make errors, right? Well think about it. You go out one night and have a good time and come into work filling bad, is you work going to be up to par? Lets say you get into a disagreement with your spouse before work, is your work going to be up to par? I dought it! So bottom line to this whole thing is pay what you fill is the right price. Or if you are married and want to stay married, old saying is "Pay what Mama feels it right. Because if Mama not happy, NO ONE WILL BE HAPPY!!!" Naaa, just kidding !! Pay what you feel is a good price. If you feel the slightest little bit that it is too high, you will not be happy with it.

Compare good Companies like PCGS, ICG, ANACS, and my personal favorite, NGC. Why buy a PCGS MS69 for $45.00 when you can get the same grade from another Company, just as good, for $32.00. I have taken coins from PCGS and NGC and opened the holders up and sent them to each other. The Grades always came back the same or one Grade HIGHER. But I have also opened holders up and resent them to the same Company I took the coin out of the slab and the Grades game back Different some times, by one Grade. Some Higher and some Lower. Old saying is buy the product, don't buy the name.

But please do your home work on the Companies out there. Yes, PCGS is well known for being number one, with NGC, ICG, and ANACS being very very close.

But this Company called SGS doesn't hold water to any of them folks in MY OWN personal opinion. All their proof coins get a PF70 grade. I have only seen two coins from SGS with a grade other than PR70 or MS70 and they were wore so I am guessing that they had no other choice but to lower it. There is alot of other companies out there doing the same thing. But This Company (SGS) I see the most often is why I refer to them.

Remember this always, MS70 and PR70 is very , very Rare to get. It means Perfect Coin for that state it is graded in. I can not trust a Company that states all coins are Perfect when they Grade it. But you will have to Judge for yourselves.

When you buy a Graded coin for investment you want to get the top of the line or as close to it as possible. But like I say, you be the judge and buy what you feel is right. But remember, some day you might want to sell it. Will you get what you paid for it??  Remember just because it is a Graded Coin and Slabbed doesn't mean it is a TRUE Grade. Know the Company Grading your coin.

I perfer NGC because they are a third party Grading Company with no ties to the coin with resonable prices on them. Some of these Grading Companies Owners buy and sell coins. You may want to do some research on the different companies. Hummmmmm!! Or maybe you just like the PRETTY  GOLD holder. HA HA!! HAPPY EBAYING EVERYONE !!!
