I received my golf buddy pro a few weeks ago, and it is time to write a review. The ease is exactly as advertised. I opened the box, charged the battery(about 3 hours charge time initially), and headed straight for the nearest course. I turned the golf buddy on, and headed to the first hole. The screen is easy to read in direct sunlight, and large numbers make it easy to see the yardage on the screen. When you turn the golf buddy on it takes a minute or so to key in to the satellites, and then finds the course you are on. At the first tee the Golf Buddy has the yardage for that hole, and off you go. The yardages were right on, and my confidence from the rough and troubled spots was increased by knowing the exact yardage. When the rough affected my distance, I could figure out how much distance I lost, so the next time I was in the rough(or the next fairway, sometimes that slice reappears out of nowhere) I could adjust accordingly. This is a treat to have, and I have used it flawlessy on several courses, and have never downloaded anything! I still have to use the feature to keep score, and there is also a feature to input what club you used and track your club yardages through the GPS. I know my club distances, but knowing on a good drive how far I truly went is fun by simply noting the yardage at the tee and the yardage when you reach your ball.
This has lived up to the hype for me, and well worth the $300 I spent. Hope this helps, enjoy the game...Ryan
