Want a lift but the better half says she doesn't want to feel like she is sitting as rig as an 18 wheeler? There are 3" lift kits available out there for E Z GO TXT carts 96 and up. It adds enough lift to put on a nice set of 22X11X10 alloy wheels and tires to give your cart that special look. If you pay attention when ordering wheels and buy them with a 2" offset, you don't need spacers for these wheels and tires. The kit comes with a new front axle, steering knuckles and tie rods (to align you front wheels) and trhe necessary parts for the rear. It takes a couple of hours to install and a novice can do it. You will need 4 heavy duty jack stands and a floor jack that can lift your cart about 24" off the floor (the higher the better). I would suggest you use a rust penetrant on all bolts before you begin unless you have a brand new cart you just got and are upgrading youself. Air tools are helpful, especially in removing the shocks but not necessary. You can do the job with hand tools only.
Want to really spiff up the cart and make momma happy? Ad a set of diamond plate step runningboards. Your cart will be lifted but the runningboards will make it appear that it's not up to the ceiling and gives you that extra step up for the additional height so you don't need to drag yourself up into the cart. Worried about roll over? You should be. Any time you alter something there are safety issues that you are changing. The chance for roll over is about 75% less with a 3" lift rather than with a 6" lift and that is important. Hope this was helpful! Have a blast fixing up your buggy!
