You have just spent a couple of hundred dollars on your new Golf Staff Bag. It is everything you wanted and it looks beautiful on the cart or being carried by your caddie at the club. But the bag gets thrown into the trunk of the car, other items get stuck on top of it or it gets dirty from normal use.
How can you get it looking pristine again?
First of all, a little soap, water, and elbow grease will get it looking sharp again. Many times, bags just get dusty and dirty from being at the golf course and driving around the course. Normal dirt and mud and dust get on the bag and they deter from the good looks of the bag.
Here are some tricks to keep your golf bag looking great.
1. Take everything out of the bag and turn it upside down and shake any items out of the bag.
2. Prepare a solution of mild soap and water, and then lightly spray the bag with a hose to get it wet.
3. Using a soft bristled brush or a soft rag, dip it in the soap solution and vigorously clean the bag using care around velvet material or material where embroidery is. If you brush or rub too hard in this area, you can damage the bag or loosen the threads of the embroidery.
4. Rinse the bag thoroughly with water and check for any stubborn stains.
5. If you have a stubborn stain, try a soft stain remover like simple green and spray the area, let it stand for a moment, and then attempt to remove the stain. Again, be careful not to rub too hard on velour, velvet, or embroidered areas.
6. Once you have finished the cleaning, let the bag dry in a shaded area out of the sun to prevent fading. If your bag has been smashed out of shape for any reason, now is the time to reshape it gently by filling the pockets and rainhood pockets with towels or something similar while the bag dries. Be careful not to overfill the pockets too tight because you must be able to close the zippers freely without damaging the zippers.
7. Let the bag dry overnight and remove the towels or other material and you will see a tremendous difference.
8. If your bag is made of vinyl, you can use a vinyl protectant to make your bag shiny but I would use a soft vinyl cleaner like simple green.
I hope this helps you keep your investment looking great!!!
