I decided to write this guide after owning cats for over 20 years (yes, back when I was a teenager), and trying just about every single type, style, scent, and option out there. For those considering a cat - I hope you will find my attempts at finding the right cat litter after 20 years helpful!
First of all, the right litter box is essential. I personally prefer one with a hood and either a mat, or stairs - my personal choice - the booda box with stairs which will be in our store shortly. This allows the cat to enter the box up the stairs, use the litter, and any granules, litter or otherwise that are stuck in there feet on the "staircase" down, are left in the litter box. (We're adding this to our store currently, but they usuall sell out quickly).
We went to a business pet show recently to add new products to our ever growing store, and found this litter that quickly captured our attention. Now, I am pretty hard pressed on change when it comes to something that "works" and has been working for me. I had been using crystal granules, which aren't exactly the best at keeping the smell down, or for scooping out "pee" but they certainly work, and tracking can be pretty minimal with the booda box. While at the show, this woman captured my attention with a bottle of ammonia, and what looked to be "kernels of ground up corn". She had a litter that was scoopable, clumpable, FLUSHABLE, took the smell away instantly, and actually worked. It clumped EVERYTHING - water, the simulated cat pee (ammonia), solids - everything - into one tiny little ball - and a nice solid clump. No smell - this stuff actually worked, and it was flushable. I had to get this - and I did... and I use it now - and wonder why I ever bothered with any other cat litter. This stuff is amazing - it's the ONLY litter I will carry because it works better than anything I have ever tried.
It's called World's Best Litter (Littermaid also puts this litter in there own bag and calls it "Littermaid Premium Clumping Litter" - all the same stuff)- and though it may seem a little pricey - one bag will last you FOREVER because you don't have extra granules you are cleaning up, and it's better for our environment - consider it "GREEN" - there is no dust, no clay to deal with, all natural, minimal tracking which means less to clean, and it clumps perfectly, and it's flushable so you are not filling our landfills with cat litter waste. It biodegrades on its own, and simply put - in over 20 years, is the best litter I have ever used! Don't believe me - try a small 7 lb. bag (with one cat this can last you 30 days) and then rate this guide... I sell the 7 lb. bag and ship it priority mail in a flat rate box! You will be amazed - I promise!
