In a previous Guide I wrote about just using these bulbs can make a big difference in your electric bill. It is very true but, a few facts have come to light and need to be addresses too. Sometimes just before these bulbs go out they smoke or pop. If the bulb breaks do not pick up with your hands. Use rubber gloves and sweep up off a wood floor and put in a plastic bag and tie it. Do not use a vacuum to pick up debris even on a carpet. These bulbs contain a small amount of mercury and great care must be made to dispose of them
