As of  late April, Godaddy has changed their domain transfer procedure.
It is now much easier to "PUSH" a domain name from one member to another when transferring  a domain name
within the Godaddy system.

For a long time,  the transfer procedure for a domain name from one Godaddy customer to another was a bit tedious.
It required the  old registrant to fill out a form with new registrants FULL information.
This included Phone number, Address, Full Name, Country, State or Province and  Zip Code;  these were the required
fields denoted with an asterix(*).
Other fields in the form were such as "organization" and "fax number" were also on the form, but not required.
This whole procedure took several steps (filling out the form, checking off the agreements and confirming, confirming again).

Further complicating the process, and somewhat peculiar, is that many recipients are reluctant to disclose their registration information.
I say peculiar, because after transfer, this same information is displayed in public WHOIS records for anyone and
everyone to see at will.
*The exception being when the new registrant purchases PRIVATE registration from the registrar.
*ICANN regulations require that registration information be correct and up to date at all times.

In any case, with the changes, a new registrant need not disclose their full information to a seller when initiating transfer now.
If the receiving registrant simply provides their Customer Number  OR  A Customer Username (Log in)  and their e-mail associated with
Godaddy, all other fields will automatically be filled in.
Voila!
*The information is filled in only when the new registrant accepts the incoming domain.

Receiving a domain just got quicker...and easier!
With the new changes, if the seller uses the quick push method, the domain name will appear in the receiving account.
No need to go through the process of typing in the two codes!
All the recipient needs to do is:
1) log in to their account and Click on "Pending Account Changes"
2) Place a Check next to the domain name and click "quick accept"
3) Check the user agreement.

If  you are on the RECEIVING end of  the domain...please remember to include the vital information, otherwise the quick push cannot be initiated.
That information again is: Your e-mail address that you have on file with Godaddy, PLUS either your Godaddy Customer Number or User-name.

Many other registrars have long had this "Easy Push" system in place.
Being that Godaddy seems to be favored by many "eBayers" and other forum traders, it is refreshing to see that they have now adopted this
simplified procedure.

Returning Godaddy account holders will likely notice the changes.
Anyone, including first timers, will probably find the transfer process fairly easy and relatively fast.
This is one change in todays online world, that I think most will approve of.
Oh, and yes....Godaddy Transfers still remain FREE !

Perhaps in the future, they will make it totally "hands free" for the recipient, which is done by the likes of  Dynadot, Enom. and
Dotster.

Whether you are transferring in or out, usually after the first few times, it becomes second nature,
...But there is quite a bit of literature on the pages that can make it a little hard for new users to maneuver through the transfer,
sign-up or registration process, especially if in a hurry.

We have been providing mini-guides (visual) to our domain buyers on an after-purchase basis. These guides are intended
to help quickly maneuver the transfer process, particularly for people new to the domain and/or website world...or using Godaddy
for the first time.

*Our store and Auctions buyers will now be receiving our newly revised mini-tutorial reflecting the changes as
they apply to the new registrant...as well as a guide to the old transfer, for those who prefer to continue using the older process.

If you found this guide helpful or informative, please vote yes.  We appreciate it.
