Gnarls Barkley - Danger Mouse & Cee-Lo Green
Rap artist Cee-Lo and producer Danger Mouse have come together in a collaboration called Gnarls Barkley. If you're a fan of the genre, you've probably heard of the hot new song "Crazy" from their album, "St. Elsewhere." The first single off the album, "Crazy" reached number one on the charts before the album was ever released.
Brian Calloway, Cee-Lo, has received critical acclaim for his solo career as well as his work with the Goodie Mob. Brian Burton, Danger Mouse, is one of the most highly sought after producers in the world. He received a Grammy nomination for his work with The Gorillaz, and critical acclaim for the mash up "Grey Album" featuring songs from the Beatles' "White Album" and Jay-Z's "Black Album."
MTV and Black Entertainment Television have both played Gnarls Barkley in the United States. The sound is mixed with everything from hip-hop to rock and electronic beats. Just when you think you have the sound figured out, Gnarls Barkley hits you with a track with a completely different sound.
The album, "St. Elsewhere" marks the beginning of an exciting new approach to making music. If you're a fan of music from The Gorillaz, you'll appreciate the track "Transformer," which pays homage to the world of cartoons. Not one to shy away from heavy subjects in their work, the Gnarls Barkley album also features tracks that deal with necrophilia and suicide. Gnarls Barkley plans on producing another album in the future. Meanwhile, Cee Lo is back recording with Goodie Mob, and Danger Mouse is busy working on new projects.
