Glycolic Acid Gel

We  want to share this information for those of you that purchase facial peels. Glycolic Acid is normally used in  plastic surgeon medial office, spa setting, or medical spa. These are used by a licensed doctor, licensed esthetician.

We have studied and research skin care and worked with peoples skin for eight years. We  wanted to share some information with you

these peels can be pretty expensive, of course you know this or you would not be buying the acid facial peels on Ebay.
In this article We am going to cover Glycolic because that is what We sell in my store and will be adding a 10% and 15%
right now I sell 40%. We will explain why we only carry these three percentages later on.

We decided to add skin care into our others section because we also would like to share our knowledge.

Glycolic acid is associated with sugar-crops and is isolated from sugarcane, sugar beets, pineapple, cantaloupe, and unripe grapes. Due to its excellent capability to penetrate skin.

It rejuvenates the epidermis by encouraging the shedding of old, sun damaged surface skin cells.

Glycolic is used on people that are showing sign of aging , fine lines, brown marks, psoriasis, and dry spots (Solar Keratoses) which is layers of dead skin. This can improve with regular applications or peels.

Glycolic may be helpful to those prone to acne. How does this work?
with time and sun exposure.

Do not go out unprotected after using this product. When have a chemical peel have put at least 15% sunscreen on 1/2 hour before prior to going out into the sun. You may feel a stinging feeling but after a moment the stinging will go away. You should avoid being out in the sun for 24 hours.

There are different ways of having the dead cells taken of the surface of your skin. Microdermabrasion which is in a dry powder form performed by an esthetician using a microderm machine  , much more expensive than glycolic peel but has the same results.

The Microdermabrasion feels like like sand particals beading against the surface and loosens the dead skin. where the glycolic lays on the skin for 2 to 4 minutes and desolve the dead skin cells and cleans off. They both basically reach the same results just in a different form.

Any type of Skin Peel should not be used more than once a week. Except for 10 % and 15 % which are to be used under instructions of your doctor or esthetician depending on the condition of your skin.

When you decide to purchase Glycolic in other places. You don't get the information that is important to know when seeing an experienced licensed Dr. or esthetician
the strength of each peel ranges from 10% - 70% Glycolic depending on the skin sensitivity and starting gently. Glycolic comes in a thin liquid or gel from my knowledge there is no difference one works just as well as the other.

10 % and 15 % or normally retail up to $80.00 sold from the shelf of spas depending in your area

10 %  Glycolic acid (ph 2.5) Used on dry, dehydrated , and normal skin.

30 % Glycolic acid ( ph 2.5) Used on sensitive, dry, oil or dehydrated skin. This will give the same results as the stronger peels, but is a more gradual process.

Ingredients:    Glypure Glycolic Acid, Purified Water, Diazolidinyl Urea.

Fan brushes and cotton swabs are basically the two that are used for applying Glycolic we prefer the cotton swab because you have more control applying. When applying any peel. It should only be applied in single strokes you should not go over the area twice in one application. you should start with the forehead. than the sides of the face. stroke in toward the mouth and nose from the hair line only applying one stroke over the skin area. stroke top of nose and strokes on sides of the nose. be careful when stroking around the eyes. fumes from the glycolic can irritate. avoid strokes close to the eyes with to much liquid it may seep into the wrinkle. this is where the gel form has more control.

It is good to be in front of a well lighted mirror , nice clean round sponges, and cool distilled water in front of you. If you are getting scabs after a peel, this may be from the epidermis blanching during the process of the peel. that is why it is good to have a well lit magnifing mirror in front of you to watch the skin. When the skin starts blanching you will see white, grayish areas, when you see this. you need to take the clean sponges dip into the distilled water and press in the areas that are blanching to clean the glycolic from that area. if you are blanching in to many areas , you need to start  taking the sponge and dipping into the distilled water and rising generously. You do not need to rub hard.

depending on the type of skin you may not feel stinging or even a slight stinging . this is another reason why you should watch the skin.
It does not mean you need to go to a higher %

knowing when all the glycolic is off the face.  you should not feel slick spots on the epidermis.

You should always test an area of your skin before using. normally it is done behind the ear.
Really it is not necessary to use a high percentage to get the result of a beautiful , radiate skin.
The trick is a good practice of morning and evening of cleansing , moisturizing, and exfoliate your epidermis regularly.

After having a peel you should avoid doing running, jogging anything that will increase the heart rate , avoid sun and put sunscreen on 15% will do.
avoid the sun bed.

It is normal to peel the next day some will notice a little flaking some will notice more. if you have a scab this may mean that that area was blanched in the peel process.
you may want to consult a Dr. to get advise.

by using a high percentage at home you are taking a chance of doing damage to your skin with out having supervision under a licensed doctor or esthetician.

When having a high % peel you should only do this once a week for six weeks normally on the same day of each week. after your last week you should drop down to the 10 % to 15 % and  use it depending on the condition of your skin. We recommend that you get a licensed Esthetician or qualitied Dr. to  give you some advise on what they would recommend.
Normally they do not charge for the consultation.

You can also use glycolic on other areas of the skin back of hands , elbows , and rough areas. Just make sure you rinse really though and put 15 % sunscreen on

I hope this information has helped you. I will be placing other articles for skin if you would like certain areas covered within this range my ebay store name is Earths Cabochon Jewelry /  540passionate2  to find us on ebay or just type in glycolic 40% and our page should come up too.

Our description of our product when we say you get 1 oz. of glycolic thats the amount you will get from us. this will give you 50 to 60 peels when using it correctly.
if you compare you will see it is a true 1oz.
