Phosphorescent Glow In The Dark Paints

Phosphorescent water based clear latex glow in the dark paints are specialist materials which are translucent in nature, they are very different to conventional paints.

Invisible revealing glow in the dark paints are off white in color, but dry virtually invisible until lighting is turned off.  Available in Matte finish only.

The paints can be applied to a variety of substrates, including textiles, paper, wood, plaster, masonry, coated metal and some plastics.  For best results the surface to be painted must be suitably undercoated with a good quality white emulsion.  This will ensure optimum brightness and depth of colour.  In addition protective clear varnish can be applied over painted surfaces to reduce ageing effects due to light exposure. 

• An undercoat is not necessary for all applications.

• Suitable for brush or roll on applications. Some rollers can absorb pigment causing streaking. Test roller to be used for streaking or pigment collecting. Brushing on is preferred.

·  Dries to a smooth matte finish.

·  Can be over painted.

Mixing

· Water thinable.

· Colors are intermixable. Available in Blue & Green currently.

· Ensure that all mixes are thoroughly stirred.

· Not intended for airbrush or spraying due to pigment particles which can obstruct sprayers.

Surface Preparation

· Ensure that the surface to be painted is dry, clean and free from dust and grease.

· Previously coloured surfaces should be over painted with white undercoat.

Application

· Coverage – approximately 100-150 square Feet per Quart depending on applicator.  Please note: coverage means how far the paint will go only. Generally 2 coats or more may be needed which coverage will be less.

· Two top coats should produce a good glow effect, however depending on effect required more coats may be necessary.

· Touch dry within 1-2 hours depending on  temperature and humidity.

· It is recommended that at least 24 hours is allowed between applications, to ensure that all water in the mix has evaporated and, therefore, that each coat is thoroughly dry before the next is applied.  However, this will vary according to substrate and environment.

· Always ensure you use adequate personal protective equipment when using spraying applicators.

· Ensure good ventilation during application and drying.

General

· Remove from skin using soap and warm water.

· Clean brushes and spills with warm soapy water.

· Seal paint container immediately after use.

· Store at room temperature.

· Do not freeze.

· Young children should be supervised

  Health and Safety

· Avoid contact with eyes and skin.

· In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with copious amounts of cold water and seek medical advice.

· In case of contact with skin, wash with soap and cold water.

· Contains no lead.

· Do not empty contents into drains.

· Young children should be supervised

CAUTION CONTAINS CRYSTALLINE SILICA: Use only with adequate ventilation. To avoid overexposure, open windows and doors or use other means to ensure fresh air entry during application and drying. If you experience eye watering, headaches or dizziness, increase fresh air or wear respiratory protection (NIOSH approved) or leave the area. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wash hands after using. Keep container closed when not in use.
Do not transfer contents to other containers for storage.

FIRST AID: In case of eye contact, flush thoroughly with large amounts of water for 15 minutes and get medical attention. For skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. In case of respiratory difficulty, provide fresh air and call physician. If swallowed, call Poison Control Center, hospital emergency room, or physician immediately.
