As an artist and a father of two , I never been stimulated by pink or baby blue type stuff. It seems a bit boring to me .I find my kids and the last one being 12 months far more interested by my studio !
The pallets , the jars of color , the paintings all over. They enjoy bold colorful designs and the little one gets really exited by the reds and oranges and the site of large faces I am working on.
Research shows that to insure a rapid development arts are essentials , it also explains that when it comes to language for example you shouldn't "dumb down"and talk normally to your child to promote language skills.
When it comes to art appreciation I believe this to be true as well .I think it is never to early for a baby to see stimulating art, listen to good music or be told real bedsides stories with a beginning , a development and an end.
So remember that art makes babies and people smarter!
