Who is Giovanni Navarre?

When I first considered selling Giovanni Navarre leather coats and accessories on eBay, I immediately discovered the ubiquitous nature of this product line.  My first question was who is Giovanni Navarre and where are these products manufactured?  Try your own search of the the web using your favorite search engine and you're sure to see a nearly infinite number of e-commerce sites all selling these products (not to mention a nearly innumerable quantity of listings on eBay!)

So, like any good eBay Store owner I had to buy an item for myself first and inspect the quality, look and feel of the product.  Among the questiones I needed to answer were: how does a relatively inexpensive item like Giovanni Navarre compare to your more well known, big name, brands?  My brother stopped in this weekend and proudly showed me his DKNY leather jacket acquired at Neiman Marcus.  The cost?  Approximately $1000.00!  As he says, it makes him look better than he really is!  Can a Giovanni Navarre coat compare to one of these well known designer items or should we even try to make the comparison?

My sense after inspecting a Giovanni Navarre Italian Stone Design Ladies Genuine Leather Trench Coat is that its not a bad deal considering that most listings will go for less than $100.00!  It has a patched leather design with slash pockets, brass trimmed buttons and an inner pocket right off the inner side of the button seam.  The weight of a Medium size for this particular item comes in at 6.90 lbs and it measures in length 4' from shoulder to the lower seam.  My best sizing information compares this Medium to a 10-12 in Ladies coat sizing.

A close look at the tag shows a US company and that the coat is manufactured in China.  Now that shouldn't be a surprise!  Next time you buy your expensive leather accessories do a close check of the tags.  I'm sure you'll find at least part of the accessory is not manufactured in the U.S.!

I have yet to have my wife take a look at it and certainly her opinion will far outweigh mine.  But I do think it would look nice on her!

This is the first of my inspections of common items you can find on eBay.  My basic sentiment?  If you can find this coat for less than $100, buy it!  If you do your homework, you can find this item for far less!
