Safety Razor Rotation !!!

Ok, so you bought a safety razor and you now realize what you have been missing. Hopefully you bought one of my razors but none the less you have a vintage razor. The most popular razor selling on EBay is the FATBOY Gillette Adjustable. Or perhaps you are using the THIN Handle Gillette. Well this guide is about the NEXT STEP.

Yes the next step is to become a "user/collector".

One razor is never going to be enough. And since they are made to last a couple of life times you don't get to replace them like a car or computer or plastic disposable. You own an antique. As an investment you might want to consider that the vintage razor will appreciate more than just about anything you own. And it is fun to use too.

Here is the rotation. I suggest that you begin to rotate various vintage razors for wet shaving day to day. I started doing this a year or so ago. I now have five of my favorite safety razors in my shaving area. I never shave with the same razor two days in a row. I made a nice razor holder and actually sold a few as well(see the picture above). It holds all five razors. I even recent bought an old barber shop cabinet but my wife will not let me put it up in the bathroom.

So here are my suggested top five vintage safety razors:

1. 1960s Gillette Fatboy
2. 1970s Gillette Extra Long Black Handle
3. 2007 Feather Travel Razor
4. 2005 Merkur Futur
5. 1940s Gillette Super Speed

I will add pictures to the guide shortly. This is my basic collection.
All vintage.
All functional.
All give different shaves.

I like them all. And they all do a great job. I use Feather, Merkur and Gillette blades. I find a new blade always does the best job but it really depends on my mood. If I am in a hurry I don't do as well. When I relax and have some time to kill, I alway get a better shave.

Look for the pictures, and stop by my auctions of visit my store. Vintage Express Shop
