Well, I've had mine for about 5 years and I'm not tired of it.  I had to give up my old Fender Jazzmaster because it was too heavy to use at long gigs at my age.  I was impressed by the SG's lite weight and the fact that you can easily get to the 22nd fret, which is a must if you play Santana stuff like me.  Never had any trouble with them (I have two) and they look really sharp.  Don't have quite the punch of a Les Paul but are about half the weight and cost.
