This is just a helpful guide to buying college textbooks. Amazon.com does not usually sell them for more than $1-$2 under what the MSRP is. And no one wwnats to spend $150+ for a book you need for a non-major class. But you do have several options. Below are a few tips for getting them:
Tip #1: Go to your local college library/books store and buy used books. Often they have highlighting in them, or somehting spilled on them, but depending on what youre saving that might not bother you. Be sure to check them out before you buy though for any missing/unreadable pages.
Tip #2: When buying online, give yourself plenty of time, we all know how shipping delays can cause problems, and some mass selling ebayers will run out of stock of a book and not take the item down. Then youre stuck either waiting for it or trying to get a refund and
Tiip #3: Plan ahead and buy towards the minddle/end of a semester. Around this time the demand goes down while supply goes up. This of course means you can get the best bang for your buck.
Tip #4: Search on EBay. I recently bought a $114 textbook for about 11 shipped because it didnt include the E-Text CD, which I didnt even need for the class. This was also the older book but the only difference between the older edition and the brand new $114 2nd edition was the updated CD-Rom.
Tip #5: Use Amazon.com's "new and used from" feature. I have saved about 20-80% off of everything I have ever ordered form them by using this feature.
