I absolutely adore my Flavia Fusion and now that I have it, I wouldn't live without one. If for some godawful reason my Fusion were to break tomorrow, I'd immediately get another one to replace it. As a person who uses and sells these wonderous machines, I find that many people don't really get as much out of them if they could. The following five tips will help you get the full Flavia experience.
1. Understand The Knobs
There is a knob on the top of the Flavia Fusion with little dots of different sizes. This is what controls the strength of the beverages you are making with your Fusion. Some people assume that the biggest dot means the strongest beverage and they think something is wrong with the machine when the drink tastes watered down. In actuality, the littlest dot means the strongest drink, so if you're looking to get a strong drink from the Fusion, turn the knob to the littlest dot, not the biggest.
2. Don't Overlook The Extras
I know some people who only use the Flavia Filterpacks to make their drinks. If you have a Fusion, don't overlook the syrups and sprinkles that Flavia offers. The carmel and vanilla syrups and chocolate and cinnamon sprinkles give your Flavia drinks that gourmet coffee shop taste without the gourmet coffee shop price and they are quite reasonable in price. You can get a box of vanilla or carmel syrups from the MyFlavia.com website for less than $4.
3. Don't Be Afraid to Try Something New
My husband loves coffee and uses the Flavia at least 10 times a day (and no, I'm not exaggerating). His favorite has always been the House Blend, and he was very reluctant to try something new, insisting that the House Blend would be the only Flavia coffee he would like. I finally got him to try a cup of the Kenyan Dawn and he couldn't believe how much he liked it. Don't be afraid to try something new when it comes to the Flavia beverages.
4. Get a Filterpack Carousel
Once you start ordering Flavia drinks, you'll notice they come in rails of 20 filterpacks. Because we use the Flavia so much in our kitchen, it was beginning to look a bit cluttered and messy. That's when I invested in a Filterpack Carousel. It's a really handy display that holds your filterpack rails and works somewhat like a daisy wheel. There are two models ranging in price from about $10 to $25. You can get them at MyFlavia.com.
5. Invest In Cups and Lids
If you tend to buy coffee when you're out on the go, you might want to invest in some of the disposable cups and lids available at the Flavia website (about $3.00 for 50 of them). This way, you can just make your Flavia at home, put it in the cup and take it with you. They are just like the cups you get at the coffee shops and make it easy to save money.
