According to Flowmaster, "If Flowmaster isn't stamped right on the muffler, it's not a genuine Flowmaster". I ordered dual exhaust with a Flowmaster muffler from Mad Hatter. Well I received a muffler in a Flowmaster box, but the muffler didnt have anything on it. I never opened the box when I took it to a local muffler shop to have them install it. The guy pointed it out to me after they had started installing the muffler and exhaust system, this is why I didn't return it. Please be sure to open the box and look at the muffler when you first receive it.
As far as the exhaust system, the guys at Meineke said it fit "like sh!t". They had to weld it instead of using the clamps, which is probably better in the long run anyway. They also had to make a new connector pipe...the one it comes with is straight. I made the comment to the guy "Well at least you have a straight connector pipe you can use later". He laughed and said "I have no use for a straight connector pipe".
I should've left Mad Hatter negative feedback but I left a neutral instead. They said I never emailed them and that maybe I got the wrong part. Well I did email them after the fact which I did not get a response from but I wouldn't have returned it because everything was welded on my truck at that point. As far as getting the wrong part....the box they sent me was right and said flowmaster, but inside the box was not a genuine Flowmaster muffler. I suspect they are selling the Flowmaster mufflers at their local shop, keeping the box and putting in a generic and selling it to us. The exhaust still sounds good but I feel everyone should be careful and learn from my mistake.
