Generra- A Guide to Generra & Fashion
Generra was one of the biggest names in fashion in the 1980s. Helping to introduce the idea of a casual look in high-end fashion, Generra has produced everything from men's wear, to footwear, to kids' clothes. In 2002, Generra became a part of the Public Clothing Company, joining other brands like Perry Ellis and Private Label.
In 2004 the Public Clothing Company had a major re-launch of the Generra line, keeping their casual style and giving it an edgy update for the new millennium. Based in New York City, Generra outfits have been featured in celebrity photo shoots for celebrities such as Mariah Carrey, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, and Kate Hudson. Typically, high-end department stores carry the Generra brand for the first run of its new lines.
Each season, Generra introduces a new crop-top sweater. For 2006, Generra has created a hand-crocheted crop top. With lace edging and ties at the front, the sweater is available in white or straw. This signature sweater is a linen-cotton blend, and is designed to be matched with one of Generra's 100 percent cotton puff sleeved t-shirts.
Generra has recently rethought their line of jeans. Their skinny jeans feature tapered legs that are intended to create a slimming line. All of Generra's jeans are dark washed and feature only the simplest, lightest distressing. A single rhinestone decorates the change pocket. In keeping with Generra's simple style, each pair of jeans features subtle decorative stitch work. Because of the tight fit of Generra jeans, it is usually recommended that you order one size larger than your typical size.
