Energetics of Gemstones and thier healing properties

My birthstone, according to the Gemstone association which created the list, did not attract me. Hence my exploration of the Mineral Kingdom started in 1976 when a Native American Pueblo Medicine Man spoke to me about the special energies that stones have. They have a vibration which speaks to us and imparts different stories or meanings. Turquoise for example had been used for hundreds of years as a healing stone, a stone of communication with spirit and one used for protection. I discovered that throughout history stones have been used for healing, protection, for symbols of power and of course for ornamentation. They are found to have meaning for Chinese, Celtic, Mayan, Aztec, African, Tibetan and Native American cultures. They have and still do use stones in their rituals and healing arts.

Here are some interesting meanings for gemstones that I have found useful. You do not have to spend much money to buy a stone; in the raw they are quite inexpensive and small stones work well too! In our jewelry we set our precious and semi-precious stones in our carvings with great care. We seek to connect the symbolism of the carving with the energy of the stone. Our pendants are inspired by Animal Totems, Native American Shamanism, Medicine Women, Goddess, Celtic, Buddhist, Hindu and Egyptian Mythology.
