Here's another Tidbit I'd Like to Throw At my Fellow Coin Collectors. Recently I came Into a Few "GSA Carson City" Morgan Silver Dollar Sets From The Government Hoard. I sell On Consignment From A Longtime Collector, and he had these sitting around in a Family Safe For years. So, I started Researching them on ebay to try and Determine a Fair Price.Well , I noticed three things, First. most GSA morgans Sell at or around the Same Price which is in the $180.00 range give or take. Second, GSA morgans are not Graded, but are simply stated "uncirculated". Third, Graded Carson city Morgans, and even Raw Specimens were selling at a Higher Price than the GSA Morgans. So, Just because I wanted to try Something Different, I cracked One open and sent it Down to ANACs For Grading.Well, I Received Word that the Morgan I sent Down is MS-64, which according to the old redbook is worth over $400.00. Had I simply listed it as a GSA morgan, do you think I'd get $400.00 Bucks for it? No Way!. Who Knows What Numismatic Treasures are sitting in a Cheesy Government Holder Waiting For a keen eye to Discover It. They're out there, they may be few, but with so many thousands of these sets sold throughout the Years, it stands to reason that there are a few perfect examples waiting to to be Discovered.
