A whimsical bunny with a little cart hops out of hiding at Easter to hold a colorful load of foil covered chocolate eggs and for Christmas I have a cute vintage Santa and reindeer planter that holds candies or little ornaments.
Make a wonderful unique baby shower gift by taking a vintage baby themed planter and filling it with nursery items such as brush, comb, socks, q-tips, baby oil, shampoo, etc. Simply wrap this with clear basket wrap and adorn it with a bow and you have a gift that any mother-to-be will love to use in the nursery.
Find a vintage planter in a color or theme that matches your bathroom decor and fill it with fancy soaps, seashells, marbles, etc. or use a taller piece for toothbrushes and toothpaste.
Fill one with your favorite collectibles and place it anywhere in your home to show them off! I use a planter for my paint brushes and larger ones for kitchen utensils. My bedroom dresser has a lovely hand-painted vintage Japan floral planter to hold spare change and jewelry.
