Your seeds should be stored in a refrigerator if you are not planting immediately. Do not keep seeds more than 3 weeks under those conditions. It is important that you sow gerbera seeds while they are still fresh.
My first choice for planting these seeds would be jiffy pots. Although, a planting soil consisting of 50% pest soil and perlite with a 5.8 - 6.0 ph is good as well. You can fill a transparent cup 3/4 full with your potting mix and pack well. Cover 2 - 3 seeds per cup with a thin layer of vermiculite. Once seeds are planted, cover with a clear plastic to in order to maintain a moist enviroment for germination. Keep temperature at 70 - 75 degrees F.
Your pots should be exposed to at least 12 hours of sun a day for 7 days. ( or incandescent light.)
At night temperature may drop to 68 - 70 degrees.
Gerbera Daisies are extremely sensitive to germinating conditions. Once 12 - 14 days has past, and germination has occured, you can place your gerbera in a sunny spot for continued growth.
Plant may be placed outside during warmer climate but cannot withstand frost or colder temperatures.
