While i remember my first ever horror movie seen in a movie theater, it was "Wes cravens new nightmare" seeing as it was what got me hooked, no, addicted to horror movies, i could never forget it. but there are plenty of horror movies ive seen since then that were worth forgetting, either due to a crappy plot, stupid story, horrid actors or just a bad movie in general, i decided to write a guide to help the avid horror movie watcher pick something to their liking.
now, if you scare easily most any random horror movie should scare you, and At this time of year (mid october) you can find a plethura of scarry movies on most TV channels. trust me, it isnt hard at all. so i reccomend some simple screamers, any of the 'Friday The 13th' or 'Nightmare On Elm Street' movies. or if the gore dosent bug you and you like hack-n-slash flicks the chucky series are pretty creepy too.
now if your into the GORE and terror ten-fold, and are REALLY looking for something to freak you out, here are a few reccomendations:
if you dont mind some serious gore check out these DVD's , all are out there to rent/buy:
- Hostel
- Saw
- Saw 2
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre (either the new ones or the origionals)
- The Thing (1980s)
- wishmaster series
if your looking for some oldschool spookies try:
- Childs play series
- Nightmare on elm sttreet series
- friday the 13th series
- Jaws series
- evil dead series
- exorcist series
- the blob
some not so scary but still fun and not the most spooky at all try:
- Tremors movies
- Carnasaur movies
- scream series
- in the mouth of maddness
- wrong turn
- jeepers creepers 1 and 2
- phantoms
if your like me and it takes a lot to really scare you i hope this little guide has helped, but if you have seen as many horror flicks as i have it taks a lot to freak you out. so good luck!
